WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam
At WrestleMania, Randy Orton shocked the world by cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase he had won earlier in the evening. His unfortunate victim was WWE Champion Rob Van Dam … moments AFTER Van Dam had successfully retained the title in a gruelling triple threat match. An RKO didn’t keep RVD down … but a sick, chilling PUNT KICK did. For two months, it was thought that Van Dam would never recover from his head injuries suffered at WrestleMania. But, by Judgment Day in May, RVD was back and back for revenge on Orton. However, something wasn’t quite right. Van Dam simply returned too soon, and was quickly dispatched by Orton, and RVD was back on the sidelines.

This time, it did seem like Van Dam was finished. The further head injury suffered at Judgment Day looked to end the glorious career of the Whole Damn Show … until the kick off of the World Tour in Mexico, when Van Dam stunned the world - especially Randy Orton - by returning once again, and this time, he WAS back to his former self, fully recovered and revitalised. And now at Summerslam, RVD is presented with the opportunity to reclaim the title that was cruelly snatched from him in New Orleans back in March. One year on from when he first won the richest prize in the game, Van Dam could end a nightmare period in his career with the ultimate revenge on Randy Orton. But will it be a happy end for the universally loved superstar, or will the Career Killer strike once again, and leave Wembley Stadium STILL champion.

WWE Tag Team Championships Match:
Americas Most Wanted vs. The Caribbean Connection
The tag team division on Smackdown has been dominated by one team for the last two and a half years; Americas Most Wanted. Other teams have come and gone during that time, but ultimately, Harris and Storm have consistently risen above every and all challenges. Now, during their longest title reign to date - eight months - and off the back of retiring Booker T, AMW appeared to be out of challenges. Given six weeks off due to a lack of competition, AMW have allowed their success to go to their heads. Whilst gorging on fast food, guzzling beer and spirits all over the world on their holiday, eight teams came together for a single elimination tournament for the right to challenge the champions at Summerslam. After beating The Master Craftsmen to win the tournament, The Caribbean Connection of Carlito and Kofi Kingston find themselves as AMW’s newest challenge. With Harris and Storm out of shape and out of focus, will Carlito and Kingston bring the big headed champions crashing back down to earth at Summerslam by taking the WWE Tag Team Titles from the complacent champions??

WWE United States Championship Match:
Paul London vs. M.V.P
Paul London has had an incredible 2007. He reached the final four in the 30 Man Royal Rumble, came within seconds of winning the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania, reached the semi finals of the King of the Ring tournament, and finally removed the tag of ‘nearly man’ by ending Brent Albrights seven month reign as United States Champion at Judgment Day. To say ‘The Golden Boy’ has been busy would be an understatement. Just last month, he narrowly missed out on winning the WWE Championship too … but since then, London has begun to look fragile. Tired, lethargic, questions are being raised over whether London has took too much out of himself this year, with a schedule busier than any other superstar, London may finally be running out of steam. With an opportunist #1 Contender in the shape of MVP waiting in the wings to strike, could London pay the ultimate price for his busy 2007??

!!THE WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH!!
~ STREETFIGHT ~
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar
Back in March, it was five years in the making. The battle between Triple H and Brock Lesnar dominated WrestleMania, and in the end, despite the McMahons, Mike Tyson, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman and even Stone Cold Steve Austin involving themselves in the chaos, Brock Lesnar was victorious. But for Triple H, it wasn’t over - The Game had a point to prove. After announcing a self imposed sabbatical, HHH disappeared for months … yet his presence was still felt on Smackdown, as the Cerebral Assassin plotted to play with the mind of Brock Lesnar. First, a strategically placed sledgehammer cost The Iron Man the WWE Championship at Judgment Day. Without even stepping foot in the arena, Triple H had managed to screw over Lesnar. Then, two months later at Judgment Day, Lesnar had the title in his sights again … but again, Triple H screwed his rival over. This time however, The Game showed up himself to do the deed.

And so, Triple H was back - and back for one man. Claiming to be ‘off his game’ at WrestleMania, The King of Kings was now refreshed and chomping at the bit for THE WrestleMania rematch … and Lesnar was more than willing to agree. The match is on, and the stakes have been raised - it’ll be a Streetfight. But for Triple H, he wasn’t done. The Game had one more trick up his sleeve. Using his contacts at WWE HQ, The Cerebral Assassin forged a plot to set up a fake fax from Commissioner Ventura that decreed a ‘NO touching’ policy between both men before Summerslam. With Lesnar’s guard lowered … he was perfect prey. The Game destroyed Lesnar, bloodying The Iron Man, nailing him with the sledgehammer, and putting Brocks participation at Summerslam in doubt. Of course, regardless of his condition, Lesnar refused to back out of Summer slam … and shocked Triple H on the final Smackdown before the showdown at Wembley … by turning up in Cardiff on the warpath. Whilst Triple H escaped the wrath of Lesnar, Andrew ‘Test’ Martin did not. Lesnar used Test as an example, annihilating him with chair shots, F5’s against a ring post, and through the announce table … before promising to END Triple H’s career at Summerslam. Indeed, both men have promised to bring an end to the other mans livelihood in the Streetfight … but which will it be … if not … both???

~ FIRST TIME EVER ~
John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy w/The Miz
Ever since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Christian at WrestleMania, John Cena has been on a downward spiral. Unable to secure a rematch, Cena has fallen further from a title shot than he could have possible imagined. Shockingly, Cena even tapped out to Kurt Angle at Vengeance, and found himself now being mated up against debuting wrestlers and ‘jobbers’. Cena reached breaking point. He put The Miz and Santino Marella on the shelf, as his fury boiled over, and his frustration was clear to see.

Mister Kennedy however has found his career take an amazing upswing since a disappointing night at WrestleMania. Coming within a hairs breadth of winning the World Championship, Kennedy now finds himself rubbing shoulders with the main event talent - where he believes he should be. However, questions are still being asked about whether the 2006 King of the Ring can compete at the top level, or, if he’s a big match choke artist. At Summerslam, he has the chance to silence the critics once and for all with victory over Cena. Victory is imperative for both men, defeat is unthinkable. A loss at the biggest Summerslam for Cena will almost certainly bring the curtain down on his days as a leading star in the WWE, whilst for Kennedy it would all but guarantee that the critics were correct, and he isn’t as good as he claims to be. But for both men, victory could lead them to where they WANT to be … champion.

Womens Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix
Mickie James life has been a living hell. Despite winning the Womens Championship at WrestleMania, facts from her personal life were brought to light, and they were not pretty. Beth Phoenix revealed that five years ago, a crazed Mickie James severely injured Beths mother - a carer, who had been looking after Mickie - and caused Beth to put her dreams of becoming a wrestler on hold. Ever since arriving on Raw, Phoenix has been desperate for a shot at Mickie, and finally at Summerslam, she has the opportunity to face her … or will she?? On Raw this past Monday, Mickie was found unconscious, bloodied and injured at the hands of an unknown assailant. With no witnesses, no one has been brought to justice for the gruesome attack, but plenty of fingers are pointing at Beth Phoenix. Should the champion been unable to compete at Summerslam, Phoenix will be declared the new champion. Will Mickies horrible run of luck continue by being forced to hand her title over to her biggest rival at Wembley Stadium??

One on One:
Edge vs. The Undertaker
Despite nearly a decade as a fully fledged member of the WWE, Edge still finds himself searching for that first, elusive WWE Championship. Embarrassingly, Edge was unable to successfully cash in the Money in the Bank contract throughout 2006, finally losing his title shot at WrestleMania, when RVD retained the title in a triple threat match. Since then, Edge has been hell bent on gaining a one on one WWE title shot - something he has NEVER had a proper opportunity to have. But, each time Edge finds himself on the verge, the opportunity is snatched away. Out of the running for a title shot at Summerslam, Edge decided to take matters into his own hands to earn his shot at the title … challenging THE UNDERTAKER to a match at Summerslam.

Never one to back down from a challenge, The Phenom accepted … but promptly disappeared into the shadows for the weeks after it. Was he playing reverse mind games with Edge?? Or did he simply not believe the Rated ‘R’ Superstar was worthy of his attention?? Edge decided the lack of presence of The Undertaker was a snub - a sign of disrespect, and Edge decided to send The Deadman a reminder of who he was dealing with - costing The Undertaker a match with Randy Orton on Raw this past Monday, and smashing The Phenom with the Con-Chair-To. But, will Edge live to regret his actions?? On Friday, The Deadman looked to have a light lit under him, and looked to exact revenge on his Summerslam opponent, only for Edge to escape his wrath. Will Edge be as fortunate at Summerslam??

Grudge Match:
Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle
To kick off the world tour in Mexico City, Rey Mysterio was presented with the opportunity to become World Champion. Having won a twenty man battle royal the week before in Pittsburgh, the stage was set for Mysterio to win his first World title where it all began. Until a vengeful Kurt Angle made his present felt. On that night, Angle humiliated Mysterio, mocking his heritage, his family, the legacy of his mask, and attacking Rey before his big moment could even begin. To cap it all off, Angle draped the Mexican icon in an American flag. Since then, Angle has continued to mock Mysterio for his history, his faith to the luchadors that he follows in the footsteps in, and has accused Rey of being a phoney, whilst disrespecting the entire planet by showing his disdain for the world tour.

Mysterio though has refused to take it lying down. Never before has Mysterio been as emotionally involved as he is with Angle. At Summer slam , it’s about more than simply competition for Rey and Angle. It’s about standing for what they believe in; it’s personal. Kurt Angle has even tried to remove Mysterios mask as he looks to expose Rey, and disrespect his identity, whilst Mysterio has refused to give in, refused to let Angle get away with his disgusting actions. At Summerslam between Mysterio and Angle, it’s personal.

World Tag Team Championships | Tables Ladders and Chairs Match:
!!THE FINAL CHAPTER - LOSERS LEAVE RAW!!
MNM vs. Straight Edge
For eight months, MNM and Straight Edge have dominated the tag team division on Raw. For the last six months of 2006, MNM were peerless on Raw as the tag team champions, but at the turn of the year Nitro and Mercury found a new challenge in the form of CM Punk and Greg Helms. At WrestleMania, Straight Edge brought an end to MNM’s reign as champions, seeing off the A-Listers in a rematch one month later at Backlash. For MNM, it looked to be the end of their run at the top of the division, unable to overcome the new champions.

But MNM refused to give in. A dastardly plot emerged, where MNM - in thanks to their Entourage - took the place of the British Lions for a World Tag Team title shot on Raw in June, and through any means necessary, they upset the champions to win the titles for the second time. After watching the two teams going back and forth all year long, Eric Bischoff finally decided enough was enough, calling an end to the rivalry at Summerslam. The losing team will be banished from Raw. But that wasn’t all. Straight Edge and MNM would also learn that at Summerslam they would follow in the footsteps of Edge & Christian, the Hardy Boys and the Dudley Boys, ending their storied rivalry in a TABLES … LADDERS … AND CHAIRS MATCH!!! Four bodies will be put on the line, two will be forced to leave Raw, and one team will be the undisputed BEST tag team in the world.

WWE Intercontinental Championship | Triple Threat Match:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal
Fifteen years ago at Summerslam, The British Bulldog sent the fans inside the old Wembley Stadium wild by winning the Intercontinental Championship from Bret Hart to cap an incredible night. Now, in 2007 at the Twentieth Summerslam at the NEW Wembley, William Regal has the opportunity to do the same. In his way though are the warring pair of Matt Hardy and the champion, Shelton Benjamin. Throughout the summer, Hardy and Benjamin have tussled over the prestigious title, with Hardy unable to take the belt from the Black Diamond. At Summerslam, that task is made even harder with the addition of the veteran Blackpool native. Will it be history repeated with an Englishman walking out of Wembley with the gold?? Will it be a happy ending for Matt Hardy in his quest to win the title?? Or will Shelton Benjamin make it an unhappy night for both men and retain the title he has held since April??

World Heavyweight Championship Match:
World Heavyweight Champion Christian w/ Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton
VS.
Mr. Money in the Bank; Unbeaten & Undefeated Umaga w/ Armando Estrada
Without a doubt; THE main event. Christian has risen over the last two years and transformed into THE MAN in the WWE, becoming a two time World Heavyweight Champion, and headlining WrestleMania. Since winning the title in New Orleans, he has come through Hell in a Cell and a Ladder match with the title still in tact, whilst also holding off hungry challenges from Mister Kennedy and even a triple threat match. At Summerslam though, it’s a challenge like no other for Captain Charisma in the form of the 350 pound, undefeated Mister Money in the Bank, Umaga.

With Armando Alejandro Estrada by his side, Umaga has been guided to the top of the food chain in little over twelve months on Raw. Having recently put Shawn Michaels on the shelf, The Samoan Bulldozer has now finally set his sights on the biggest prize. For weeks, Umaga physically dominated the champion, with AAE also proving to be a difference maker any time that Christian had looked like getting the better of the beastly Samoan. However, Christian produced his own smoking gun in the form of Ricky Hatton; Britain’s most famous pugilist, enlisting ‘The Hitman’ as his corner man, negating Estrada. But that’s only one problem dealt with. Christian still has to find a way to something NO ONE has ever done - defeat the undefeated Samoan Bulldozer. To keep his title, and join the ranks of legends and icons in WWE lore, Christian MUST overcome the incredible Umaga, and inflict a first ever loss on the 350 pound wrecking machine. Is it a task simply too big for the current - soon to be ex? - world champion??
