WWE Championship
Batista © vs. Randy Orton vs. Triple H

For the first time ever, these three former Evolution team-mates will collide in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship. ‘The Animal’ Batista has a battle on his hands to hold on to the title that both challengers, Randy Orton & Triple H are hell bent on taking from him, however as we saw last Monday night on Raw, The Animal is up for the challenge.

At the start of the year, we saw Batista return to Raw along with Ric Flair to help Triple H, reforming Evolution while Orton held the WWE title. Batista & The Game never looked closer than they were at that time, all until Batista won the opportunity to fight for the WWE Championship he went on to win later that night at Vengeance. Triple H was furious and turned his back on their friendship, as well as The Nature Boy’s before going on to retire him at SummerSlam as once again, The Legend Killer failed to reclaim the WWE title in the Elimination Chamber where Batista defeated him to retain the gold.

A month later at Unforgiven, Orton was given another opportunity to get his hands on the title he’s desperately tried to get back since losing at WrestleMania, but Triple H threw a spanner in the works. It looked as if Orton was going to punt Batista in the head and become WWE Champion again when The Game got involved, bringing his sledgehammer with him. Both Batista & Orton were on the receiving end of vicious sledgehammer shots, once again leaving Orton without the title that The King of Kings was desperate to call his too.

With battle lines already drawn between Batista & Triple H and Batista & Orton, Orton quickly turned his attention to getting even with The Game. All hell broke loose, and despite his better judgment, Eric Bischoff went against his initial promise not to give in to Triple H’s demand and made the triple threat match for the title official for Survivor Series. Despite that, Batista & Triple H especially have been at each other’s throats with The Game convinced The Animal was dating his wife after he separated from Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.

It wasn’t the case, but Batista had other issues, trusting The Viper, and Orton showed he couldn’t be trusted a couple of weeks ago when he blindsided the WWE Champion with an RKO. Last Monday night, Batista was out for revenge on Orton this time, and Bischoff gave him that chance by arranging a tag team match that saw Orton joining forces with his rookie, Darren Young to take on Batista & Triple H, and if Orton & Young lost, it would be Young’s last night on Raw. Like tonight, The Animal had a battle on his hands and he was up to the challenge, winning the match after an altercation with his partner, ending Orton’s rookie’s chances of earning a permanent place on Raw.

Batista’s clearly ready to fight for his title as he showed on Monday night, but will he come out on top again tonight when the title all three men want desperately is on the line?

World Tag Team Championship – Tournament Final
Team Omega (Matt Hardy & Gregory Helms) vs. Rey Mysterio & Mystico
vs. Christopher Daniels & Kaval

Tonight we will finally determine new World Tag Team Champions when the final three teams standing meet head on in the final of the controversial championship tournament.

It’s a match that one team is very unhappy about. Christopher Daniels & Kaval made their way through to the final after two impressive victories, but a week later in the second semi final, Matt Hardy & Gregory Helms met Rey Mysterio & Mystico for the right to face Daniels & Kaval in the final for a shot at the titles. Things however didn’t go as smoothly as they did in the first semi final as the match ended in a double count out. It left Eric Bischoff with a decision to make, but his decision to make the final a triple threat match didn’t go down at all well with Daniels & Kaval.

They were livid that they were forced to take on two teams in the final after they booked their place in the final with back to back victories, unlike the two teams they’ll meet tonight. Bischoff though didn’t change his mind, meaning all three teams will battle it out for the vacant titles this evening. Daniels & Kaval haven’t changed their stance on Bischoff’ decision and the undefeated duo who have been extremely impressive since their debut in the summer, well their anger reached boiling point last Monday.

After Matt Hardy came out on top in a triple threat match against Mystico & Kaval, Hardy, Helms, Mysterio & Mystico shook hands and wished each other the best of luck for tonight’s match. As the Mexican mentor & rookie combination left their friends alone, Daniels & Kaval jumped them until Rey & Mystico returned to the scene before only two teams were left able to compete in the final.

All three teams are fit & ready to fight for the titles later on, but only one will walk out as the new World Tag Team Champions, just which team will that be; the life long friends, the Mexican mentor & rookie combination or the angry undefeated duo?

If Team Cena wins, Cena will face CM Punk at Night of Champions for the World Heavyweight Championship
Team Cena (John Cena, Christian, Matt Sydal, Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas)
vs. Team Punk (CM Punk, Edge, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez, Chris Jericho & Shelton Benjamin)

John Cena’s switch to Smackdown from Raw was hailed as a massive coup by Tazz, but it’s clear he didn’t anticipate the welcome he’d get from the rest of the locker room.

Even before Cena agreed to trade Monday nights for Fridays, the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk amongst others voiced his opposition, especially when it was announced that if Cena did choose to join Smackdown, he’d be given the chance to fight for Punk’s title at Night of Champions. That’s if he was able to lead a team to victory at Survivor Series against a team led by Punk. The Straight-Edge Superstar isn’t the most popular man in the locker room but he had no problem whatsoever getting a team together to ensure Cena doesn’t get anywhere near a title shot they all agree he doesn’t deserve to be fighting for ahead of them and everyone else in the locker room.

They were also confident that Cena wouldn’t be able to put a team together, however that’s not been the case. He’s managed to put quite the team together, consisting of the United States Champion & King of the Ring, Matt Sydal, Christian, and the team that’s been taking Smackdown by storm lately in Bobby Lashley & Charlie Haas. They’ll be up against a team that’s shown great unity in recent weeks that includes former World Champions, Edge & Chris Jericho as well as the resurgent Shelton Benjamin and Punk’s rookie, Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez. This past Friday night, Christian & Jericho met in a Lumberjack Match, and once again Captain Charisma came undone thanks to his brother, Edge.

However the controversy didn’t end there on Friday night as Cena & Punk met in a face-off. The World Champion has never been shy of speaking his mind but he well & truly shot from the hip and left everyone in no uncertain terms in just what he thought of his opposing team captain. He pushed Cena over the edge, but Punk’s team were quickly on hand to help out their captain. It didn’t take long for the rest of Team Cena to save the day for him, ensuring that if it wasn’t personal enough already between the two captains & teams, it sure is now.

With Punk’s team going all out to make sure Cena doesn’t get the title shot he’s been promised upon victory, can Cena and his team book him a spot against Punk at Night of Champions? Edge & Jericho want that shot for themselves. Will they be able to steal it away from him? Whatever happens it’s going to be one hell of a battle that you simply can’t afford to miss with more controversy guaranteed if history is anything to go by.

Team Raw (Sheamus (cpt), John Morrison, Carlito, Cody Rhodes & Joe Hennig)
vs. Team Smackdown (M.V.P. (cpt), Ron Killings, Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Santino Marella)

There’s nothing like a bit of brand warfare, and what better place to do it than the Survivor Series in a traditional elimination match?

Dubbed the ‘Battle of the Brands’, Raw & Smackdown will collide with Team Raw being captained by the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus who has yet to be pinned or made to submit since arriving on Raw. His Smackdown counterpart is the former United States Champion, M.V.P. The two teams have been at war in recent weeks, which went up a gear last week when both team captains met one on one live on Raw Monday night. It was The Celtic Warrior that came out on top before he sent the rest of Team Smackdown a stern warning that defeat lies in wait for all of them come Survivor Series.

However the confident Intercontinental Champion was then invited along with the rest of Team Raw to go to Smackdown on Friday night where all ten participants in tonight’s match met in an over the top rope Battle Royal, won by Team Smackdown with M.V.P. settling the score from Raw earlier in the week. It didn’t go down well with Sheamus as he was the last man to be eliminated, and he along with the rest of Team Raw will have to put that defeat to one side later on tonight when they take on the resurgent Smackdown team.

M.V.P. & Ron Killings showed how fired up they are on Friday night, and Paul London & Brian Kendrick have even been able to put their differences aside over the last couple of weeks since their difficulties on Raw. Surprisingly, Raw’s team have been able to put their differences to one side too with Sheamus & Carlito temporarily calling a truce with the Puerto Rican still hoping to get a shot at the Irishman’s title. Cody Rhodes and his rookie, Joe Hennig have stepped up to the plate and done what their captain has asked of them, and all that’s left now is for the two teams to battle it out with only one of them able to gain brand supremacy.

Will that be the so called ‘A show’, or will the blue brand be able to take that title from them?

Team H.B.K. (Shawn Michaels, Bryan Danielson, Kofi Kingston & Elijah Burke)
vs. Team Miz (The Miz, Heath Slater, Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler)

The Miz has described this match as the future against the past, and this evening he & his team will have the chance to make their mark at the expense of a future Hall of Famer in the shape of ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels.

We’ll find out if Mr. Hollywood can back up his words tonight, but it was his big mouth that led to this match, talking himself in to trouble with The Heartbreak Kid. Coming off the back of his victory over John Morrison at Unforgiven, Miz continued to mock Matt Cappotelli’s faith, which understandably provoked an angry reaction from Michaels. The Smackdown superstar made a surprise trip to Raw to let The Miz know just how out of line he was to mock someone’s faith in the manner that he did, especially poking fun at Cappotelli given what he’s been through.

The Miz however didn’t take well to Michaels’ dressing down, and he responded by attacking him on Smackdown, only for Michaels to fire back by costing him the chance to become the Intercontinental Champion three days later. The Miz was furious and vowed to make a statement, challenging The Heartbreak Kid to a match at Survivor Series, both leading teams to face each other in a traditional elimination match. The Miz has put together a team he’s called ‘awesome’, a team full of future superstars like himself.

They include his rookie, Heath Slater and Smackdown’s Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler. Swagger has had an impressive start to his Smackdown career, defeating Bobby Lashley in a Best of 5 Series. Ziggler’s had less of an impact after losing to Elijah Burke at No Mercy, but since then he’s undefeated, even picking up the win for The Miz’s team on Raw in a six man tag match last week.

They’ll come up against a resurgent Kofi Kingston as well as Burke, who only defeated Ziggler last month at No Mercy. Completing Team H.B.K. is Bryan Danielson, an athlete Michaels has called one of the best in the world today. Danielson was trained by his captain and has made a strong reputation for himself having wrestled all over the world before arriving in the big leagues alongside his former mentor.

Only two nights’ ago, Michaels & Miz locked horns where Mr. Hollywood avoided tasting some sweet chin music by low blowing his opposing captain. Will he & his team be so lucky tonight and live up to their ‘awesome’ billing?

Hell in a Cell – Loser Leaves Town
The Big Show vs. John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield

There may not be a title at stake but much more is on the line when The Big Show & John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield meet inside Hell in a Cell as they both fight to save their careers.

Only seven months ago, The World’s Largest Athlete returned to the WWE, brought back by Mr. McMahon to join his sons, Shane & J.B.L. in The Corporation in their battle with Evolution. After initially helping the McMahon family even the score with them at Backlash, there were problems around the corner. With a shot at the WWE Championship up for grabs at Vengeance for the winner, Batista secured victory for Evolution before going on to win the title later on that night. However both J.B.L. & Big Show were given the opportunity to challenge The Animal for the title at SummerSlam inside the Elimination Chamber.

The cracks that had started to appear were blown wide open that night when Show accidentally nailed his Corporation ally with his trademark knockout punch, leading to J.B.L. being the first man eliminated. The shocked seven foot plus monster followed moments later and he fought his way back to the locker room with J.B.L. in front of the furious McMahon patriarch. It came as no surprise when Mr. McMahon stood by his son’s side, leading to Show turning his back on The Corporation with another killer punch. The McMahon men have tried desperately to take out the giant, but one by one he’s taking them apart.

He’s already put Shane in the hospital after a chokeslam through the announce table on Raw, and he almost chokeslammed the Chairman of the Board off the stage a couple of weeks ago. That was after he chokeslammed J.B.L. on to the steel steps, and only a change of heart stopped him sending Mr. McMahon off the stage and in to a whole world of suffering. This past week however, he was on the wrong end of a chokeslam as he declared his son was unable to compete at Survivor Series. J.B.L. was adamant about going through with his word and stepping inside Hell in a Cell but could only look on as Show slammed his father in to the mat.

One man’s career will come to an end tonight, but for whom will the bell toll? It’ll be hell for both, but for one it will be the end.

The Undertaker vs. Ted DiBiase

The bell will definitely toll for either The Big Show or J.B.L., but it may just toll for Ted DiBiase too when he steps through the gates of hell to take on The Undertaker.

From the moment he debuted on Raw the night after WrestleMania, DiBiase has claimed he is destined for greatness, and it’s been a bumpy ride for him that threatens to get even bumpier this evening in Toronto. In his short career so far, he’s already held both the Intercontinental & Million Dollar titles as well as sparking an investigation in to who left Eric Bischoff for dead when Raw’s Head of Authority was attacked backstage. It was DiBiase who attacked Bischoff when he rumbled Ted Jr & Sr’s plan to take the Intercontinental Championship from Kofi Kingston at SummerSlam.

The plan worked with Bischoff incapacitated, however unfortunately for DiBiase, Bischoff remembered who it was that attacked him that night, and he wasted no time in showing him who was boss on his return, resulting in him losing the title to Sheamus in a fatal fourway match. DiBiase was understandably angry, and instead of getting his rematch he demanded from Bischoff, he learned he had been given an opportunity to prove himself as the next John Cena he claimed he would be with a match fitting of his status at Survivor Series.

The identity of his opponent remained a secret until The Undertaker appeared on Raw, and despite his constant vow to dominate Raw for years to come, he wasn’t too happy at the prospect of facing The Undertaker. He accused Bischoff of trying to get revenge for the attack, but Bischoff has stated on many occasion that’s not the case. DiBiase though realised there was no way out of the match and he brought in some extra help in the shape of Ezekiel Jackson, and in the last few weeks, they’ve taken the fight to The Dead-Man.

This past week on Raw as the phenom was about to compete, DiBiase made his way out to the arena with his rookie and spoke of how the world was about to see what was going to happen to The Undertaker at Survivor Series. They took the fight to him, but he was up to it. Maryse however came to her boyfriend’s rescue, and her distraction was enough for them to eventually wear him down, and even after two trips to Dream Street, The Undertaker sat up and gave DiBiase the death stare that so many superstars have felt over the last twenty years.

DiBiase may regret not finishing the job, but he still has the opportunity to do so later on this evening. The question remains though whether he can do it or not, and if he will be able to step up to the level he feels he is at. The Dead-Man stands in his way and Ted’ll be in for the fight of his life, of that there can be no doubt.
