Yes I did randomize roles. As for the cult, I let them keep the roles of the people they recruited, and they had a bodyguard. If Hiplop hadn't been found out, they could have been quite powerful, after all they managed to recruit the vig, which basically turned them into a second mafia, and they got the cop, which was another big blow to the town.
