Re: Being The Booker
Monday Night Raw Preview:
Last week, Armando Estrada confirmed that his Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga, will cash in his Money in the Bank title shot at the main event of Summerslam - despite having World Heavyweight Champion in a perfect position, out cold, at the close of last weeks show. The main event for the biggest Summerslam of all time is now set ... or is it?? Rumours are swirling that Raw General Manager is unhappy at the title match being set already, ruining his own plans for the road towards Wembley Stadium ... and indeed, Eric Bischoff is set to address the Raw roster at the beginning of this weeks show. Just what does the General Manager have in store, and how will it affect the scheduled Christian vs Umaga showdown at Summerslam??
One championship match that WILL definitely go ahead though is the World Tag Team Championship Match - this week on Raw. MNM must face up to The British Lions after conspiring to remove the British duo from the title matches at Vengeance and the following night on Raw, with help from their mysterious Entourage. After escaping Raw last week in Phoenix with the titles in tact having defeated Straight Edge, MNM are once again thrown into the deep end, with not only revenge, but championship gold on the mind of Burchill and Smith.
Another championship picture that will become much clearer after this week will be the Intercontinental Title, as Matt Hardy and William Regal meet in a rematch from the King of the Ring semi finals, for the opportunity to face Shelton Benjamin. Hardy's history with Benjamin is well documented over the last couple of months, and the North Carolinian will be desperate to book another shot at the Black Diamond, but the tough veteran from Blackpool has been enjoying somewhat of a resurgence in recent months, and will undoubtedly fancy his chances of making a run at the prestigious IC Title belt once again.
For Kurt Angle, it's a bittersweet homecoming, having expected to arrive this week in Pittsburgh with the World Heavyweight Championship in his possession. However, despite not being involved in the decision, Angle found himself on the losing end of last weeks triple threat match, as Christian surprised Mister Kennedy for the three count. With a title match seemingly no longer in his short term future, just what is next for Angle?? And, having lost his second consecutive title match, has Mister Kennedy pushed himself to the bottom of the list for the forseeable future?? Having spent the last two months chasing the elusive World Title, will Kennedy now be forced to change his goals too?? Both Angle and Kennedy perhaps now find themselves in the same state of limbo that John Cena is currently struggling in ... all three out of the championship picture ... on the outside ... looking in. Whilst Cena must 'work his way' back up the ladder, will Angle or Kennedy be forced to do the same??
Also, following the shocking conclusion to last nights Smackdown Brand PPV; The Great American Bash, Raw (and currently Smackdown) GM Eric Bischoff will show video footage AFTER the PPV went off the air, and the shocking developments surrounding JBL after he was buried alive by The Undertaker. Have we heard the famous 'Longhorn' and stock exchange bells for the last time??
And, having had a week to recover - and think - after his beating at the hands of Umaga, Christian will be in Pittsburgh, and the World Heavyweight Champion will surely address his scheduled opponent at Summerslam. Does Christian truly believe he can be the man to finally break the 'streak' forged by the Samoan Bulldozer over the last twelve months?? We'll find out on Raw.
